In 2020, my world was turned upside down, like millions across the globe. Many people sadly died from COVID-19 and my thoughts go out to all the families who have lost someone or those who have been severely affected.
It will surely be a year to forget.
My story began, mid-way through the pandemic, one day after arriving at work. And at the time I was employed as an Hotel Manager which is something I have done for many years.
Anyway, I arrived at work as normal getting ready for the day when the GM called me over to his office, sat me down, and said the words which I knew was coming at some stage
“Am sorry James we are going to have to let you go” I wasn’t surprised but still gutted that I was being made redundant.
Then I thought “Wait a minute”, I have a family, with three children, what am I gonna do? And without a job, no money, no money, no food.
But luckily I have always had a passion for websites, design, and SEO. I am also a laptop gaming enthusiast.
With over 10 years of experience with gaming laptops. It was then I decided surely I could help others who game using laptops and share some of my knowledge.
So that was it, now all I had to do was decide how I would share my knowledge with so many channels to decide between..
Social media, YouTube, Website, Blog etc etc..
But my decision was made easier because I already had experience with designing and building websites and that was when Jimmtech was born.
My website is dedicated to helping other laptop users improve their gaming laptops. With in depth guides and useful laptop gaming tips and product reviews on laptop and gaming laptop accessories.
Although I do understand it will take time to build an online business to help support my family but that is my goal. However, I am lucky my partner is a key worker who cares for vulnerable people and she works many extra hours to help support our family. Until I can build my website to become an authority in the gaming laptop niche and life should then be a whole lot easier.
Hopefully someone will read this post and be able to resonate with what I have gone through and understand where I am at.
That said, I am thankful my family is well and healthy which is the main thing to take from this experience.
